Welcome to the Athens High School Orchestras Website

The Athens Orchestra Parent Association (AOPA) welcomes our new and returning musicians to another year of beautiful music. AOPA is a parent and community-supported non-profit organization, whose purpose is to help support the orchestra program at Athens High School.

AOPA is a tax-exempt, nonprofit, 501 (c)(3) organization. Contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Orchestra Senior Students - After May 14th, you no longer need your dress uniforms. Please have them cleaned and returned by Friday, May 24th. For more info, please click Uniform. Information will be posted in the orchestra rooms.

Parents of Orchestra Students needed to fill Board Positions for next year. Positions open are Vice President, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Secretary. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Angel Chin at  achin3399@gmail.com

The Andy Stindt Scholarship Fund

The fund was created in 1997 after the tragic death of Andy and two of his friends, Michael Jamieson and Ashley Easterbrook.  All three were killed by a drunk driver.  The scholarship fund provides financial support to deserving young musicians in the Troy School District for summer music camp, private lessons and/or college.

Through the generous support of the community, we have been able to award  $96, 347 to 178 students.  The fund has also purchased sheet music, provided DSO master classes and brought visiting clinicians to the Athens Orchestras.
